Northwest Cabarrus High School is a new, comprehensive campus designed to support academic achievement, career readiness, and student life for 1,800 students. The 290,000-square-foot facility reflects Cabarrus County Schools’ commitment to adaptable, student-centered learning environments that support a wide range of educational pathways.
The academic building is organized around a central, daylit student commons—Trojan Square—which serves as the social and organizational heart of the school. This shared space supports student dining, informal learning, and large gatherings while providing intuitive wayfinding and strong visual connections throughout the building. Academic wings extend from the commons, allowing classrooms and support spaces to be clearly zoned while maintaining connectivity and supervision.

Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs are integrated throughout the campus to support hands-on, industry-aligned learning in health sciences, dental care, automotive technology, and engineering. Agricultural education is supported through dedicated barn and grazing areas, reinforcing experiential learning in agri-science and veterinary technology. Outdoor teaching spaces further extend learning beyond the classroom.
Athletics and extracurricular programs are supported by a fully integrated sports complex featuring a 4,000-seat football stadium with practice facilities, baseball and softball fields, and a six-court tennis complex. Site planning prioritizes safe, efficient circulation by separating bus, parent, service, and pedestrian traffic while maintaining strong connections between academic, athletic, and outdoor spaces.
