Home On the Boards Old ATC Renovation

After more than two and a half years of meticulous planning—balancing design possibilities, market shifts, and the unique constraints of the existing site and building shell—we are thrilled to finally watch Rodgers Leeper begin demolition!  This project will bring to life the future of Central Piedmont Community College’s original Advanced Technologies Building!

This transformation marks a significant milestone in the College’s ongoing commitment to modernization and innovation. The once purely academic facility will be repurposed to house key administrative departments, including Information Technology Services (ITS), Communications, Marketing, Public Relations (CMPR), and Institutional Advancement. This strategic relocation will centralize essential operations into one location for the first time in ITS’s history.  This will foster greater collaboration and efficiency among the College’s leadership teams.

The renovation will introduce a revitalized exterior, seamlessly integrating with the College’s established architectural identity while also enhancing the main entrance to establish a stronger connection with the Central Campus Quad. This reimagined presence on the Central Campus Quad will not only improve accessibility but also reinforce the building’s role as a vital hub within the College’s landscape.

We are proud to collaborate with Central Piedmont, Rodgers Builders, RJ Leeper Construction, Stewart, CMTA, Abode Blac Vertex and Timmons Group in bringing this vision to life, ensuring a modern, functional, and inspiring space that supports the College’s mission for years to come. Demolition has begun in January 2025 with construction to follow, and we look forward to sharing progress along the way!ncy among the College’s leadership teams.
