Morris-Berg Architects is thrilled to announce the promotion of Chris Muryn, AIA, CNU, CPD, to Partner, effective January 1, 2025, as part of the firm’s expanded leadership team. Since joining the firm in 2022, Chris has guided the firm’s Urban Design and Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) initiatives while also leading its branding and public relations strategies. His contributions have refined the firm’s site-specific planning strategies, driving innovative, context-driven solutions and opening doors to new market opportunities. Chris was instrumental in launching the 2022 website and spearheading marketing efforts in celebration of our 50th Anniversary in 2024. His design philosophy focuses on creating meaningful spaces at all scales, aligning seamlessly with the firm’s rich legacy.
In addition to his leadership role in the office, Chris has taught Urban Design History classes for the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Master of Urban Design (MUD) program, and Central Piedmont Community College in their Architectural Technology Program. He has led historic and bicycle tours of Charlotte’s neighborhoods while he co-chaired Programing and Tours for Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU) annual congress that was in Charlotte in 2022. Chris was part of the Charlotte Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, Young Architect Forum in 2024. Aside from his professional passions, Chris enjoys being outside cycling around Charlotte, volunteering with Sustain Charlotte and spending time with his family.
