Home Projects South Mecklenburg High School Classroom Addition

Completed in January 2025, this 33,400-square-foot project enhances the traditional high school program by adding 13 classrooms, including CTE classrooms, two JROTC classrooms, JROTC offices, a training room, and specialized learning spaces. The addition also features arts classrooms for Ceramics and Crafts, complete with associated outdoor space.

This new building supports essential school programs and sets the stage for the next and final phase of campus development, also designed by Morris-Berg and scheduled to begin construction in July 2025 and be completed in 2028.

The three-story structure integrates seamlessly with adjacent buildings by incorporating large windows, allowing natural light to fill the interior spaces while providing enhanced visibility across the campus and into nearby courtyards.

Balfour Beatty served as the Construction Manager for this $14,231,000 project, which represents a key milestone in the school’s long-term development plan.
